Hanover Community Church is a non-denominational Jesus Christ-centered Bible-believing fellowship. Our fellowship is open to everyone; come as you are. We are a conservative country church out on the prairie, seeking to follow and honor our Lord Jesus Christ in our daily lives.
The first Sunday School in Hanover began in 1907 when one of the first homesteaders, Mr. Wesley R. Causey, taught a class of young girls. Mr. Causey felt a great concern for the spiritual welfare of the many new settlers coming into El Paso County.
In April of 1918, a handful of people in the Hanover Community gathered to organize their first official Sunday School. Attendance grew from 19 to 100 in that year.
The years that followed World War I and the Depression saw an exodus of many families from the Hanover Community. In the fall of 1951, the young people of the community arose as a band to meet the challenge of a church building. Determined, they invaded every ranch and farm in search of scrap iron, metals, and old paper. From the sale of these items, they netted $160. Building plans were on the way!
The old Homesteader's dream came true when Mr. Causey saw the church building completed on May 22, 1954. The building, as it stands today, was dedicated on April 17, 1955.

SECTION 1. (Scriptures) We believe that the Scriptures are the plenary and verbally inspired Word of God and are the sole or final authority of the Christian faith and practice. II Timothy 3:16-17, II Timothy 4:2, II Peter 1:20-21, John 5:29, Matthew 5:18, Revelation 22:18-19.
SECTION 2. (Trinity) We believe in the Triune Godhead, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit: perfect in holiness, supreme in power, infinite in wisdom, and indescribable by human wisdom. Genesis 1:2, Isaiah 6:8, Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19, Isaiah 55:8-9.
God the Father, holy, just, infinite, eternal, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and immutable: manifests His love and mercy to mankind through His Son, Jesus Christ. Deuteronomy 32:4, Psalms 139:7-10, Proverbs 15:3.
God the Son, God manifest in the flesh, became incarnate in flesh, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died an atoning death for our sins, arose from the dead the third day, ascended to the right hand of the Father, becoming the High Priest, the only Mediator between God and man. Philippians 2:5-8, Galatians 4:4-5, II Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 4:14-15, I Timothy 2:5, I Corinthians 15:3-4.
God the Holy Spirit indwells, comforts, and enlightens the believer, empowers the disciple, and convicts the sinner. I Corinthians 6:19, John 14:16-17, John 14:26, Acts 4:31, John 16:7-11.
SECTION 3. (Salvation) We believe that salvation is by grace alone and that man, apart from the grace of God, is depraved. Ephesians 2:8-9, Isaiah 64:6, Romans 3:23-24, II Corinthians 5:21.
SECTION 4. (Satan) We believe Satan is a fallen angel, the enemy of God and man, who accuses the saints and deceives the world: his doom, along with his followers, shall be in the lake of fire eternally. Ezekiel 28:13-17, Matthew 24:24, Revelation 12:10, II Corinthians 11:13-15, Revelation 20:9-10.
SECTION 5. (Baptism) We believe that each believer, having truly been born again by faith in Jesus Christ, should, as an act of obedience, follow his/her Lord in Scriptural baptism. Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:41, Acts 8:35-37, Romans 6:3-5.
SECTION 6. (The Church) We believe that this church is a local assembly of believers with whom we may sing, give fellowship, and further the cause of Christ in our community and to the uttermost parts of the earth; and whose government is incorporated within its own congregation, Christ being the Head of the church. Acts 1:15-26, Acts 6:1-7, Ephesians 5:23, Colossians 1:18.
SECTION 7. (Future Events) We believe that Christ shall rapture His saints, return to the earth to conquer His enemies, and establish a reign of righteousness upon the earth.
